continental : The Eichhornia crassipes prefers rather dry soils; water it regularly from March to October, during the rest of the year water it occasionally. We remind to leave the soil dry for few days before watering it again, specially when the temperature is lower. We can suspend waterings in winter.

These plants can not bear temperatures below 10-12°C, therefore grow them in the apartment during the cold months.

mediterranean : It is advisable to grow these plants in a very sunny location.
These plants do not tolerate cold; they are grown at a minimum temperature of 10-12°C, therefore in the house or in the hothouse.

Fertilize Eichhornia crassipes : Fertilize these plants using specific fertilizers, from March to October; there are slow-release fertilizers, to be mixed with the soil, or fertilizers to be dissolved in the water the water garden.
