Treatments Osmunda regalis : It is advisable a precautionary fungicide treatment, to be applied at the end of winter, using Bordeaux mixture. As far as insects are concerned avoid to apply a treatment if such parasites are not present on the plants.

continental : The Osmunda regalis likes dry, loose and very drawn soils. Avoid excessive waterings and give water only when the soil has been very dry for few days. We can increase waterings in summer. Avoid watering in winter.

alpine : These plants do not like water excesses in the soil, in spring and summer water occasionally, dampening the soil deeply. For the rest of the year waterings will be only occasional, during the periods of long duration drought or in case the plant is starting to fade.

mediterranean : Avoid to water the Osmunda regalis excessively, it prefers draining and very dry soils, it does not suffer from drought, but it is advisable to water regularly during summer, watering the soil deeply. In winter avoid waterings.

continental : The Osmunda regalis prefers to be grown in half-darkness.
Grow the Osmunda regalis outside all year long; it is a rustic plant.

alpine : It prefers semishady locations, where it can receive few hours a day of sunlight.
This is a very rustic plant, that is grown in the garden all year long without any problem.

mediterranean : We suggest to place these plants in a semishady location for a balanced growth.
These plants are very rustic and survive in the garden also in case of long intense frosts.

Fertilization Osmunda regalis : It is possible to find on sale specific fertilizers in tablets for water plants, to be buried at the base of the plant, or soluble products to be dissolved in the water of the water garden. Avoid fertilizing during cold periods.
