Thymus vulgaris - Garden thyme

Pests Thymus vulgaris : Avoid pesticide treatments if we do not see parasites on the plant; on the contrary at the end of the year we can apply a Bordeaux mixture treatment, to prevent the growth of fungus.

continental : These plants shall be watered frequently to keep a constantly humid substrate. However avoid the water stagnation and decrease waterings in case of low temperatures.

alpine : Water The Thymus vulgaris very regularly, to maintain the soil always humid, but not soaked. During the coldest months water only if the soil dries out completely.

mediterranean : Waterings will be very regular, giving a good amount of water, to allow the soil to be constantly humid, avoiding to drench it completely. Decrease waterings in the cost season.

continental : It is advisable to grow this plant in a very sunny place.
The Thymus vulgaris does not tolerate temperatures below zero; therefore in autumn cover them with frost cloth, or replace them to a sheltered place if possible.

alpine : It is advisable to grow this plant to direct sunlight all year long.
Avoid to expose The Thymus vulgaris to the frost; in autumn place them in a sheltered location or in the greenhouse or replace them in the house.

mediterranean : It is advisable to grow these plants in a very sunny location.
We suggest to grow The Thymus vulgaris in a sheltered place away from frost; it is also possible to cover the aerial part with frost cloth during winter.

Fertilize Thymus vulgaris : Add some green plants fertilizer to normal waterings, from March to October, every 15-20 days.
